I've been hearing how I need to update this blog from a certain someone around here. The big construction project going on across the street (umm...that would be road for you country people) prompted me to do so. I'm not sure if the workers are Mennonite or true Amish. They might even be Old Order...there are so many groups around here. We don't see very many true Amish...so I'm doubting they're true Amish. Anyway the pic is from far away so I doubt we were capturing anyone's souls. Enough of my moral dilema.
This is going to be one HUGE BARN...complete with a cute little porch. It's going up so quickly! And the amount of trucks & equipment involved has been truly fascinating. The neighbors are building it so that their kids can have 4H animals...goats, chickens, rabbits--looks like they'll have room for horses! Their kids are 8, 7, and 3...just in time.
The neighbors were pretty horrified that their chickens dared cross the road to range feed by our house. We told them it was not a big deal because they're not pooping on our cement. It will be kind of sad to think of them stuck in the barn...not seeing the light of day. They are pretty little birds & one even made a nest next to the front porch steps. I had my little Livi take the 8 or so eggs the little bird had laid over to the neighbors. They were surprised the birds were laying already!
It's sunny today so hopefully I'll get something done outdoors despite the cooler temperatures.
