I've lived with daylight savings time my whole life (with the exception of the first year when we moved to Indiana). It usually doesn't bother me. But I've been waking up just too darned early!
Why can't they just leave the time at daylight savings time all year. What is with this getting pitch dark at 6:00PM?
It's just not very productive!
The sunrise is kind of nice to see though...driving to work in the light is different! ...getting home in the dark...ick!
Quilting
So I've been quilting. this was a pretty simple quilt using basic gray fabric. It's for my daughter's room.
I have more that I should share...but all in good time

Whoo hoo...
My little brother called & asked if we wanted to see Michigan vs. San Diego State (the team that Brady Hoke used to coach). We're a ways from Ann Arbor, but our kids had never been to a Michigan game so my husband agreed to go! I didn't take my good camera as you can't take bags into the stadium (even purses!) so I wasn't going to chance a downpour (even if it is an old camera!) So the photos were my 10 yr old daughter's responsibility.
The U of M Graduates are SERIOUS tailgaters...
Like quite serious...
The stadium update was quite nice..even if the photos don't do it justice:
We didn't get a lot of photos; the band was fun to watch...
And it's always fun to be with 110,000 people in a stadium!
And we got to watch a little football...the jury is still out on the jumbotrons, but they did help keep your interest during "media breaks"...
We always like to see our Wolverines in the end zone making that touchdown!
The final score was 28-7...Michigan didn't play as well as I would have liked...they've got some tough competition coming up. Hard to believe it's probably been 25 yrs since I've last been in Michigan Stadium.
The seats were definitely better than student seats! It was a fun day with lots of driving...but that's old hat to us. In conclusion for your viewing pleasure; the Michigan Fight Song:
Hail to the victors valiant
Hail to our conquering heroes
Hail, hail to Michigan
The leaders and best...
Hail to the victors vailiant
Hall to our conquering herores
Hail, hail to Michigan
The leaders of the West!
Go Blue!

Uh oh...a dog without a name...
Last night the only thing I can think of is ... that I lost my mind. I agreed to this adorable 7 wk old lab pup.
He's still nameless...Husbs wants to name him "Buck" but the family's all vetoed that one. Lucky Jack is still not sure about him.
He'll get a name ... SOON!

Today...
This is the beginning of a new day.
You have been given this day to use as you will.
You can waste it or use it for good.
What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.
When tomorrow comes; this day will be gone forever; in its place will be something that you have left behind.
Let it be something good.

The Help
Just finished this book...in record time. Stayed up too late a couple nights but I'm finished! Heard it's going to be a movie. ...doubt the movie will be as good as the book. Just a review... a friend recommended it last fall & I finally got it from the library recently. It was a ...good read!

Too Many Projects
I'm doing a thangles buck a block club...you buy a block each month for $1.00. The problem is that you have to buy the finishing stuff...ANOTHER $30 + dollars.
And you have to pay attention to your 1/4" -- you don't sew *exactly* 1/4", but a tiny bit less so that you have room for the fold!
It's hard to see here but I bought a special 1/4" foot. If I used this--my pieces will end up too small. the lady at the one quilt store said to sew just inside the lines on the thangles to leave room for pressing.
I must just go forward from here.
I have a couple other projects as well.
And yet another color for that buck a block. That's a lotta' blocks! And they're *NOT * quick!
Then there's the sweaters:
I think I need a nap!

Easter knitting
I haven't been getting a lot of knitting done lately. I made a couple of scarves and hats. I have a few half-finished sweaters.
I found a link for an adorable knit chick--the kind that goes over an egg. I have a couple of crocheted ones from when the big kids were small & we'd go to Detroit's Eastern Market. I loved that place & miss it!
I think maybe the crocheted ones would make up a little more quickly?
